Our four elegantly appointed self-catering suites each offer a king-sized bed with quality linen (and electric blanket for chilly nights), en-suite bathroom with towels and a lovely rainwater shower heated with a gas geyser, and kitchen area with small fridge, convection microwave oven & coffee machine (with 4 complimentary coffee pods and more on sale at Reception) - perfect for simple holiday self-catering.

Our solar system means no loadshedding and each suite offers reliable WiFi, a large screen TV and full bouquet DSTV. Great comfort to reward eco-aware travellers!

Protea Self-catering Suite

This room consists of a lounge, kitchenette and ensuite bedroom that sleeps 2 adults. It boasts two corner windows that showcase the gorgeous views of Buffalo Bay, especially beautiful at sunset. The corner chaise is ideal for reading a book whilst taking in the views!

The protea room has direct access to the gardens, sunset viewing deck and firepit boma via the suite's own 'bridge'.

Pincushion Self-catering Suite

This room consists of a lounge, kitchenette and ensuite bedroom that sleeps 2 adults. It is our most cost-effective room.

The distinctive feature of this room is that the doors open up to reveal a juliette balcony that looks out onto beautiful fynbos. There is a comfy chair for reading whilst soaking in the cool sea breeze.

Erica Self-catering Suite

This studio style room consists of a lounge, kitchenette and ensuite bedroom that sleeps 2 adults.

The Erica Room boasts a large sunny private balcony with views of the gardens and Knysna lagoon, perfect for lazing on a sun chair with a book or binoculars.

Succulent Self-catering Suite

This spacious studio room consists of a lounge, full kitchen (with large fridge, a stove and oven), bedroom sleeping 2 adults, and en-suite bathroom - ideal for longer stays.

The sliding door leads onto a balcony with exceptional views over Buffalo Bay.

Relax and Revive

Driving up the hill on our paved road you will arrive at a spacious, secure parking area. The rooms are accessed via a flight of stairs and a sunny passage (unfortunately no wheelchair access).

Regardless of the suite that will be your home during your stay, your hosts quietly stand by to ensure your comfort and there is always someone around to assist.

Whether you plan to take in all the area's attractions, or to stay in and rest, or enjoy the Sunset Deck or Bonfire Boma areas, we wish you a deep rejuvenating stay.

"Pincushion Heights in Knysna is an absolute gem of a guesthouse! I had the privilege of staying for four nights in the Pincushion Room. From the moment I arrived, the exquisite views captivated me, creating a serene and picturesque setting. The self-catering rooms were simply wonderful, offering all the comforts needed for a memorable stay. The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept so well. I often am disappointed with the hairdryers at guest houses, but this one was really great! An added bonus is the fact that the whole property is off grid meaning that load shedding did not impact my stay at all! The Fynbos garden is stunning, and the boma offered a magical spot to stargaze. Watching the sunset with a sundowner was pure bliss."
