About Us

Your hosts are the Pickering family: Peter and Ursula, together with their 2 daughters, Lee-Ann and Nicole, 3 gorgeous Shnauzers and one personality-filled ginger cat.

In 2019, Peter and Ursula retired from their last posting in Switzerland and the family converged in Brenton. Given the magnificent views enjoyed from their family home, they wanted to share this with others and over the period of a year Peter's lifelong dream of a workshop, together with 4 unique holiday self-catering apartments on top, was built. Each family member's individual talents helped make these suites something truly special:

Peter is the handy-man who made shelving for each unit, put up mirrors, art & decorative features and oversaw all with a meticulous eye.

Ursula created the gorgeous indigenous gardens of endemic fynbos plants including Pincushion proteas which are a sight to behold in season.

Lee-Ann has a custom handbag sewing business, Pincushion Studio, and created all the cushions in the self-catering units.

Nicole is a talented artist and she sketched all the drawings that you'll see in your bathroom and kitchen.
